International Community of Sunderland (ICOS) is seeking to employ an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Project Manager to lead in and successfully deliver our exciting three-year Community Fund supported “Back in Control” Project.
The project is focused on the vital support of Black and Minority Ethnic victims of modern slavery and workplace exploitation in the City. It will provide reliable and proactive support, advice and guidance in a variety of areas including challenging issues around housing, employment and the rights of individuals and family access to welfare.
You will engage and collaborate with local organisations and partners across all sectors offering and delivering training and awareness-raising activities leading to systemic and lasting change in how victims are treated and supported in Sunderland and beyond.
Applicants should be able to evidence experience of delivering similar projects. You should have excellent communication skills and a knowledge of more than one language is desirable. With excellent IT skills, you should have a deep understanding and a demonstrable commitment to reducing Hate Crime and Discrimination in Sunderland and beyond.
Applicants should be empathetic and have excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills as well as a deep understanding of the challenges facing the BME community of Sunderland.
As an integral and vital part of the ICOS team you will be responsible for leading the team, successful day to day running of the project including measuring and reporting of progress against targets, safeguarding, engagement work and coordination. You will successfully engage and influence at all levels, from clients to major stakeholders, particularly in year 2 and 3 of the project.
